• • "If you talk you get to live" I understand why it has to be Accepted doing this rather than full sisters, but also, stilling people generally reduces their will to live, there's no reason for either one to talk!
  • They do mention the Heart system, the way it works in the books, and try to explain the fact that Liandrin must have been really well-connected to know that all of those Sitters were actually Black Ajah.
  • "Was there a fire in the library or sweetcake shortage in the kitchen?" Haha perfect insult for Verin.
  • "Who are the Wise Ones?"/"That is Wise Ones business." Nice.
  • Maksim: "Absolutely not." Lol. "Who says it's the first time."
  • Ugh, we really do not need the Lord Luc subplot.
  • The Whitecloaks are pretty dumb because...Perrin has been gone for months, years? They don't even know that he's back, they could potentially just kill the Cauthons for nothing. I get that people send each other mail in this universe but still.
  • "What happens when he's proclaimed car'a'carn?" Wise One (internally): "When or if, lady."
  • "Wouldn't hurt" haha good answer Lan.
  • Cenn Buie! "And I'll tell you what it is." Classic Two Rivers.

  • How old is Liandrin? Somewhere in her 100s or maybe 200s? The contrast between "yeah she's evil, but also, some parts of the world are dominated by a patriarchy and that's also terrible" is one thing, but it's also important to remember that she's working on memories of a culture that are centuries old. It's possible that lots of progress has been made in her lifetime (although not in this specific case), she's just not aware of it because she's stuck at the Tower.

Explaining about the hearts makes it likely that Verin is telling the truth when she says she had no idea Nyomi was actually a Darkfriend and capable of such a betrayal. :(
