Here's an advanced technological idea, we need to encrypt the communications to make them secure! (This just amuses me as a math person who's heard the talk about "so when are we ever gonna use prime numbers anyway" "well actually a lot of cryptography relies on it being a lot easier to multiply large numbers than factor them, so if you ever come up with a quick way to factor them, let us know!")
D'Argo's blood is clear. Continuity!

Scorpius' female (human) assistant looks like Teeg 2.0.
John mentions "Luanne Johnson," is this just a hot lady from his memories? Not sure if that's a 90s allusion I'm missing.
Chiana is a good/moderating influence on D'Argo, reminding him of his loyalty to John.
Scorpius is fumbling for the coolant and we cut to the last commercial break, suddenly John is alive and back on Moya? How did he get out.
Aeryn: "I know." Okay, Han Solo.
And there are evil creepy crawlies in the boxes...
Lots of callbacks to previous episode!
Chiana and Rygel try to steal some cash only to find that it's vanished, selfishness is useful sometimes! (As they point out.)
It sounds like the violent alien from way back in Episode 1.4 chose to renounce his evil gauntlet, nice. :)
Yikes, we're straight up talking about rape now.
How old is Jothee? I got the sense that D'Argo was about 30 and had been in jail for eight years, so Jothee isn't much older than that, but his dialogue seems more mature.
Natira/Scorpius: "I would only bang someone evil enough to try to murder me," villainshipping!
Durka is still around, eeesh.
"You are treacherous scum!" "So is everyone on this ship." The mercenary party with all the callbacks :)
Time skip to Jothee's return. Again, like so many of the openings, this would be better with like 60 seconds (or 30 microts) more exposition/transition.
This has nothing to do with this episode in particular but every time I see Chiana, it's like...the bottom of her hair as it appears from the front seems so...fresh. Freshly cut. Like I want to run my hands through it and feel the texture. (I guess this is how D'Argo feels all the time.)
Second-to-last episode, perfect time for Talyn to show up!
Crais says Talyn is responding to "her mother's distress call." Is this just a typo?
And then he turns the "I thought you didn't want to use violence" argument against Aeryn and everyone, nice.
Rygel carries Durka's head around as a trophy.
John's nickname for Natira (who has a cool appearance, looks like blue-gray stone, although her breasts are too...breasty for aliens) is "Frau Blucher." TVTropes says this is a Young Frankenstein reference.
I can see how Talyn would have been acting on his own in coming to Moya's aid when the critters/burns were attacking her, and in destroying the net, but blowing up the building seems unnecessary.

And he has to wear a mask all the time. Like with Stark, very 2022 vibes.
Jothee's scars are from mutilating his face because he's ashamed of his Luxan heritage/absent father, eeesh.
I want to like the John/Aeryn but it feels very tacked on, not involved with the recent plots. Like, there's been plenty of John/Aeryn building this season, but not in the last few episodes.
There are three similar biped bodies in cryostorage, but no Sebaceans? Whether humanoids are rare or common depends on whether we need to OOCly cast human actors with no costumes or make John be the weird outsider, heh.
D'Argo wants to marry Chiana and settle down with Jothee, Rygel wants a ship out. Again, making it work as a possible finale even if we're not lucky enough to get rid of Rygel.
And Crais wants to give Aeryn a job.
"Now this is [podracing]!"
Stark/Zhaan is abrupt but makes sense, they're both the super-empaths/healers of the team.
"What does this neuron do?" "American politics, Nixon to Clinton. Lose it." Haha.
Jothee almost makes a move on Chiana, oh jeez. (Again, how old is he? Like they're both the "kids" of the team but I feel like they're retconning D'Argo's age to be older, even assuming aliens mature at different rates.)
"Ironic...he could save others, but not himself." Very definitely sequel meme vibes even if they aren't intentional!
And then that ending, eesh, I guess they knew they were getting another season (there's a "to be continued" overtext), but that image feels much more creepy than "let's all go our separate ways" did for a potential cliffhanger!
And I will probably try to resume my "real-time" fanfic binge, so stand by. (Maybe.)
