Good to know, thanks! I've read "Crosstalk" so that was one of the things that set me up for the name twist. There were parts of it that worked for me, parts that didn't, but in general it felt more consistently low-stakes than this one.
And yeah, I can see how being interested in Eurocentric-skewed parts of history sets up a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation.
