I enjoyed The Goblin Emperor quite a lot, and am additionally extra fond of it because I target-recced it to a couple of people who really, really loved it, and I always really enjoy when things work out like that.
But I also just like Csethiro and Csevet, and appreciate that the protagonist's superpower in this is decency.
One of the fascinating things for me about reading TGE is that I had read the author's under-a-different-pen-name tetralogy that had a few surface similarities (odd diction as part of worldbuilding done effectively) but was very, very different in tone and type of characters populating it, and that was an interesting expereince in itself.
