-"The Fires of Heaven"; does heaven just represent the sky in this setting? There doesn't seem to be much of a sense of an afterlife if everyone is just reborn eventually.

Prologue: a weird old man is Graendal's captive. Is this Jain?
(Chapter) 1. Ugh, the over-the-top oathbreaking stuff
5. Aviendha/Egwene continues to be the best ship. Aviendha gives Egwene flowers (!) and gets punished for lying about it...because they were really from Rand. Meanwhile Rand is concerned because someone (Egwene) gave Aviendha a necklace, oh noez.
6. Nynaeve wants to heal Thom's leg and watch him dance, does this ever pan out?
10. The pigeon guy has his own mysterious agenda.
-Oh boy here comes the circus.
-In some articles/writeups I've read there was a mention of "Moiraine had a vision in the rings. that sleeping with Rand would be a disaster" but I couldn't remember where that comes up. It's just in her POV at some point.
-Egwene is talking to Moiraine like an equal and bossing Nynaeve around!
-Was Janduin the leader of the entire Aiel invading force during the Aiel war?
20. Rand: "why would a man want to climb a mountain," heh
31. Rand sets up a "fraternity" in Rhuidean called the Roof of the Winespring Brothers to keep the maidens out, heh. (Do Mat, Egwene, and/or Moiraine ever take advantage of this to barge in on him?)
32. Aviendha somehow knows how to open a gateway and they wind up in Seanchan, haha.
35. Forced Warder bonds used to be common (this comes up again with Lan and the transfer)
37. Nynaeve's guilt over Birgitte's being ripped away parallels Rand's guilt with like, every woman in his life.
45. Asmodean wants to meet Perrin as the third ta'veren.
47. an "asa" is some kind of a Seanchan slave/concubine?
49. Elaida wants to talk with Bashere about something?...I guess this is Mazrim Taim.
50. Min has a viewing of something good happening to Faolain and is resentful about it.
-Tel'aran'rhiod is kind of a janky plot device. Like, Rahvin is permanently dead beyond resurrection because Rand balefired him there (if you die in Canada, you die in real life?) But by the end Egwene and Perrin will just be like "no, we ignore effects here if we don't like them."
-The other writeups point out, and it's true, that for all Moiraine's poise and bravery here she's also very circular in "prophecy said this will happen, therefore I must make sure it happens." Bleh.

Anyway, if and when there's fic, it'll probably be more Egwene/Aviendha with just less determinism all around. And possibly Rand being confused.
