Writing silliness

I mentioned a couple months ago I was working on a historical fantasy to potentially submit for publication. Well, I haven't heard back on that front yet, but maybe no news is good news, we'll see.

Today, however, I learned that there's a documentary coming soon that covers the era I was writing about, and apparently one of my fictional ideas is fairly similar to a true story that's only now coming to light! So on the one hand, yay prescience, on the other, if it gets rejected I don't know if I'll be able to sell it anywhere else because it'll look like I ripped off the documentary! Well, the fantasy aspects are new. (I hope.)
