FTL unlocks

primeidealIt's been a relaxing break so far, that's for sure! ;)
Basic human-type ships: unlocked B (Red-Tail) via 6 aliens/11 systems achievements, in different games. I like the Animorphs name and had fun renaming crew after characters from that and other series.
Then unlocked C (Swallow) shortly after (reaching sector 8 in B). It feels not as good as some of the others? The weapons aren't great. Lanius crew is good, but if they die, meh.
Engi: unlocked C (Tetragon). I like this! Got the "ion" achievement somewhere along the way but I'd already unlocked B a while ago, so not super big deal.
Then just now, was on a quest that led me to both the Lanius ship and the Stealth one! (Not sure if that's normal?)
Lanius "upgrade to B" seems very hard. 600 scrap on hand?? 20% oxygen? I guess early on you can disable it to power up all the weapons at once, and the emergency respirators definitely help the wimpy humans, but...still scary to me to play with oxygen too much. (I wish the guy who taught me the game was around, I remember being like "okay yeah it's great you can turn it off to win a battle but...maybe you should turn it back on again?" "oooops yeah.")
Federation stealth...125 scrap for shields is rough, but cloaking is powerful!
Silly but addictive game. Still have yet to, you know, win. Hopefully I can put it down when I get back to the academic grind...
