So I was never really in the fanwork side of Hamilton fandom because it was apparently a mess. One of the many amazingly dumb stories I heard was that there was an author who wrote a Hamilton/Washington modern AU. Okay, sounds good. The title of the fic was "quid pro quo" after that line in "The Room Where It Happens." Sure. And then other people used that title for their fics. And the first ficcer took offense. And people had to be like "...one, it's a direct quote from canon, and two, it's a Latin phrase with its own usage in English, like, you did not make that title up. People have the right to use it."
Anyway every once in a while I think about that author and wonder how she feels about, like, everything.
Also, amazing timestamp headline from today's Washington Post liveblog:
12:20 pm: Sondland says he was too busy juggling ‘stuff’ to remember all of the details of his Trump conversations
To be fair, who among us has not been busy juggling 'stuff'? I certainly have.
