Thanks for the kind words! I can't remember if this was a conscious source of inspiration, but "Godel, Escher, Bach" has some interesting (and now outdated) predictions about how "smart" AI might be humanesque in that they would get bored or distracted halfway through a chess game instead of the single-purpose supertools we have today.
