We're back! And there are baseball allusions!
John has gotten rescued by another Pilot+Leviathan team who want to live out their days in the sacred space. And he meets a DRD who plays/reminds him of the 1812 Overture? The "needs a little more intro" issue strikes again.
"I kill Leviathans, but only the old ones, they don't have long to live anyway and there's fewer passengers as collateral"--the newbie.
John's chivalry getting him in trouble again, it's been a while!
Chiana actually spells out more about how her visions work. It's a new season and we finally get this infodump now of all times? I'm not complaining, but wow!
Sikozu gets into a petty catfight with Chiana. Replacement Jool?
The fake Aeryn who lives inside John's memory-scape with Harvey is creepy (I don't think? pregnant abdomens? look like that?) and not really Aeryn. John, stop objectifying women in your subconsciousness. :(
"Sarcasm, the hallmark of the subeducated" haha oof.
John's pop culture references have been more over-the-top this episode, which suggests he's doing it as a coping mechanism. After he's isolated from his friends (Earth or Moya) he gets annoyed and just doesn't care if people don't understand him.
How did the air not drain out of the ship when John was trapping the dog?
The lead bounty hunter has some Yoda syntax at times.
"We are not the best traveling companions" - John. Yeah, you don't say.
"I want my life back" - definitely Jool 2.0
"Is this a feeling feeling?" John getting genre savvy about Chiana's visions.
The Arnesk inhabitants lived in peace with Scarrans and Peacekeepers 12,000 years ago. They've been around that long?
"Legend has it, if I find the third probe, I can reverse its damage." How are there legends about a ghost planet?
Old lady: "I just wanted you to accept Aeryn's decision, you can forget it now." What? He did not accept the decision, he went searching for her because of it. And by forgetting it he's just back where he started??
Grayza: "Hi Braca, please kneel suggestively before me while I bathe." Braca: "I did not sign up for this."
John: "I do not even know this old lady's name, I just think you shouldn't point guns at people."
Vision of the priests chanting--the theme music! :D
John: "I just want my gun so I can get out of here." You don't need a gun to get out of here.
D'Argo kills the archaeologist because she insulted his intelligence and Jool didn't stick up for him. Were D'Argo and Jool friends with benefits? What do they see in each other?
Sikozu tries to protect Rygel, that's nice of her. To be fair, she barely knows him.
John finds the third relic [okay never mind it's a different relic, not the third part of the triangle] and concludes that...the Arnesk people were in touch with ancient Egypt? He's an astronaut, what does he know about hieroglyphics? Seems a stretch.
Sikozu with her gravity tricks again!
Scorpius shows up mind-broken and chained like an animal, yikes.
What does Grayza want from Crichton? Like, what is making out with him going to get her? I can imagine John going along to protect the others but...
Old lady: "Unfortunately, the knowledge I subliminally tried to insert into your head is too powerful and now everyone's going to be after you." John: "Yeah, tell me about it."
The sea creature rescues John but then just tries to drown him again? Why bother? Did he know that John had information about the probes?
Okay, D'Argo put him up to it, that makes more sense.
Grayza might have had an implant that concubines get but shortens their lifespan? Seems unlikely. Do the concubines have any say in it? :/
D'Argo and Sikozu: "Hey, please go get sex pollened, and we're not going to tell you about the plan." John, very reasonably: "...no."
Grayza tries to bribe John by pledging to help fine Aeryn...while she's sex pollening him, bold.
Rygel is on pleasant terms with the expy Pilot who hopes they'll meet in the afterlife, what happened there?? Did we already hit our quota of self-absorbed assholes for this episode?
John talks about Gaylord Perry (spitball pitcher) and Joe Niekro (scuffed the ball--his brother Phil threw a knuckleball but that's legal so I think he's referencing "cheating") in the context of Grayza's pheromones not playing fair. HAHAHAHAHA AMAZING. Like, a bunch of the 90s-2000s references probably are more obscure these days, and baseball pitchers from the 70s-80s maybe not the most relevant, but my kind of nerdery is absolutely here for this, thank you Farscape.
"If we fail this was all for nothing." Since when do Elack and his pilot care this much about this gang? Crichton's exploits are semi-legendary in the Uncharted Territories--is Moya just a Leviathan hero now? Are all the Leviathans like "yes, they're the ones who defeated the psychopath in the sacred space, let's all protect them?"
I like that the probes are relevant now, but why does Grandma throw the gun off the cliff and make John jump off again? She is, as the kids say, "too extra." (Especially because it looks like Chiana just climbs down the normal way...?)
Nice to see some resolution for Jool. As is pointed out, she's not really a fugitive, so it's good that she can settle down and do something that makes her fulfilled.
