Those with the magic touch to make their shoelaces stay tied, and the rest of us.

I understand they're trying to be helpful by informing "oh by the way, your shoelaces are untied (: " but like, I'm not wearing them that way as a fashion statement, I'm wearing them that way because they are unable to stay tied. Tell me something I don't know.

Join the club! But if you want to be told something you don't know about shoelace knots, there's Ian's shoelace site. My shoelace tying improved dramatically after I learned not to make a granny knot, but they still don't always stay tied.

This is a cool site! I came into the post to recommend what I see it calls the "better bow shoelace knot," which is basically you loop around twice before pulling through, as it says on the site. Someone -- I forget who -- taught it to me when I was in... grad school?... and my shoelaces continually came undone, and now they never come undone! (Even though I think I still make granny knots, which I didn't know about until reading the site.)
