Yesterday was a short day because of pre-holiday festivities, good news. Bad news was that a bunch of little things conspired to make me irrationally frustrated. Doomscrolling is bad, who knew. Anyway I decided to divert those energies to try and start writing an idea I've been turning over about first contact gone wrong--not "violent" so much as "very frustrating and talking past each other." I don't know if it wants to be flash-length or longer, I suspect it might be something I have to hash out several times to see what coheres. I can see several different "books that have influenced me" in the setting and I'm hoping it's more "homage" than "lazy rip-off." So we'll see. Going to try to work on Multifandom Doodle over the break/weekend.
