Fest update, or, "Tagging 102"

October fests are wrapping up on LiveJournal! I wrote "Undead Ringers" (Lee Jordan gen) for Zombie Fest, and The Enchantresses of Numbers (Minerva and Septima) for Minerva Fest. Plus, HP Creatures...but they haven't revealed yet.
Soon I'll get to archiving "Enchantresses" and my creature fic. It's hard for me to know where and when to use chapter breaks, <hr> breaks, or what. I'll admit it, I like getting reviews, and posting in pieces seems to be a better way to make sure more people have a chance to come across the story on different days. But when there's only 300 words at a time between some <hr> tags (and 2000 in other sections), do they deserve their own chapters? Or what?
Tag filters are back on Ao3! I miss having access to all the freeform tags at once, but oh well, better than nothing. A bit surprising to find that Lucy Weasley is my joint "favorite character." (I assure you she is not.) It's just an artifact of how I've tagged pieces, even when certain characters only get a tiny snippet. And the fact that a lot of my old Animorphs stuff seems too low-quality to upload, even though I already have a backup pseud and have been back-dating them just for this purpose...I should probably get back to that. Lucy Weasley, really?
If you happen to have ideas about when to break chapters, when characters do/don't do enough to deserve being tagged, and that's not even getting into how to find and use relevant/funny freeform tags, let me know!
Edit: you know what's not helping the cause? My penchant for "undisclosed characters." Seriously wish there was a way to hide tags from public view but have them secretly tag stories about certain characters, so those who want fic about them can find it and those who don't care can be pleasantly surprised by the name drop at the end of the story.
