I'm rereading Wheel of Time because my dad found a bunch of them at a library book sale (go Dad!). One of the minor characters in book 1 shares his name with an online "acquaintance" from another site who turned out to be, not only arrogant and full of himself, but also a malicious liar in general. So...that was an unexpected reminder, sigh.

Maybe there will be fic during the reread, no promises. Probably not about this dude though.

It really changed the way I thought about WoT when it was nominated for the Hugo as a single work, for Best Novel, and as part of the Hugo packet we got a single ebook of the entire series, which I read over the course of a few months. It's hard to think about a story that big as a single novel, but there is a very impressive overall structure to the work, even though it gets extremely wooly in the middle.
