Minor braggery

primeidealI finally finished a draft of the short story I'd been kicking around since August (and mentally kicking around for a couple of months before that). Probably won't submit it anywhere until Mysterion opens in January so I have time to edit later, but, whew. This was a tricky one. Thankfully I was able to write other stuff (original and fannish) in the meantime. The "only one project on the burner at once" mentality can only go so far.
Meanwhile, trying to come up with an overly-extended metaphor for some of my RL neuroses and I'm wondering if I could turn it into a satire. "Some human issues are like vampires. Because when they drink your blood, they get more blood and you get less blood. On the other hand, some of them are like zombies. Because if they smear you with slime, you become a zombie, but they don't get any less zombie-ish. Meanwhile, the Yeti has important messages to broadcast about hot and cold temperatures, but only a few people get his radio station. And it's not like the Yeti is going to call random people out of the blue to talk to them personally, that would be weird."
