Hugo nominees out

I got an email with the hugo shortlist, followed half an hour later by one apologizing for the typos: there was a misspelling, a wrong font color, and one guy had his middle initial printed with a period, which us incorrect. Hugo awards are srs bzns. (To the worldcon people reading this, I am grateful to you for your efforts, but would not trade places.)

Of the six series nominations, three were ones where I've read the first installment and decided "nah, I'm good," so I suspect my initial fears that the voters' taste is not very similar to mine were not unfounded.

Normally I like the subjects the hugo shortlists tend to focus on, but I gotta admit I just went "UGH" when I saw one [redacted] on there that I knew would be there but was an agonizing read for me. *laughs*
